OPETH: BBC Session Recordings To Surface On 'Ghost Reveries' Special Re-Release
December 4, 2005Sweden's OPETH visited the legendary BBC studios in Maida Vale, London, U.K. to record a couple of songs scheduled to be aired on BBC Radio 1 sometime soon. The songs will also be included on the planned special release of "Ghost Reveries". The tracks recorded were as follows: "The Grand Conjuration", "When" and "Soldier of Fortune" (DEEP PURPLE cover).
OPETH's new album, "Ghost Reveries", is available now on Roadrunner Records. The band utilized the services of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD drummer Gene Hoglan during the bulk of this summer's Sounds of the Underground tour after the group's regular skinsman, Martin Lopez, went back to Sweden for treatment of a rare blood disorder he's had for most of his life. The group have since enlisted Martin Axenrot (BLOODBATH, WITCHERY, NIFELHEIM) to take over Lopez' duties until he's fully recovered.
